Originally from Cullman, Alabama, Matt attended Birmingham-Southern College and Auburn University where he received a Bachelors of Science and Industrial Engineering degree respectively. Matt had the opportunity to fish professionally after graduating by winning the College BASS National Championship. In 2015, he began his career as a professional angler. In 2018, he and his wife, Abby (Myrex) Lee, got married and moved to Smith Lake. Matt still competes as a professional angler and wanted to challenge himself in a new avenue that will still allow him to compete in tournaments. By being exposed to the real estate profession by his mother-in-law, Cindy Myrex, he took the necessary steps to obtain his license.
